Coincidence Calculator
Coincidence calculator is used to calculate the chance of an occurrence of two or more events by finding their critical frequencies.
What are the Critical frequencies?
Critical frequencies occur when two or more frequencies are close together to produce a perceptible tone and are heard in the variation in loudness or pitch of a sound.
Formula for coincidence frequency:
fc = [√(3) * c2 / π * d] * [√(ρ/Y)]
Where
- c = Speed of sound
- d =Thickness of panel
- ρ = Density of panel
- Y = Young's modulus
How to find coincidence?
Example 1:
Find the critical frequency while the data are given below.
Speed of sound =12, Thickness of panel = 17, Density of panel = 19, Young's modulus = 21
Solution:
Step 1: Write the given data.
c = Speed of sound =12
ρ = Density of panel = 19
d = Thickness of panel = 17
Y = Young's modulus = 21
Step 2: Write the formula of critical frequency.
fc = [√(3) * c2 / π * d] * [√(ρ/Y)]
Step 3: Put the values in the above formula and simplify.
fc = [√(3) * (12)2 / π * (17)] * [√(19)/(21)]
fc = [√3 * 144 / π * (17)] * [√0.9047]
fc = [√432 /53.43] * [√0.9047]
fc = [20.78/53.43] * [√0.9047]
fc = [0.3889] * [0.9512]
fc = 0.95119 (hz)
